Simplemente Charly…. Como apodan a Carlos Sosa, cantante Uruguayo que desde el año 1999 pasa a formar parte del grupo “Chocolate” convirtiéndose en la voz líder a fuerza de temperamento y éxito.


Charly no paró de cosechar éxitos que se sumaron a lo largo de estos años, su primer tema titulado “Loreley” coloca al grupo en los primeros planos nacionales ya que este venia de una ruptura.


Pero fue en el año 2000 donde graba el tema “Mayonesa” el cual lo lleva a recorrer los mejores escenarios de todo el mundo, colocarse en los primeros puestos en ventas y liderar por varias semanas no solo rankings de Latinoamérica sino también de Europa y Asia; consolidando no sólo su voz sino también su imagen ya que este tema se graba para MTV y el video clip es emitido a nivel mundial, estando dentro de los más votados y formando parte de la lista de los premios MTV Latino.


Millones de discos vendidos, agenda de shows a full, sesiones de fotos, entrevistas, presentaciones en televisión. Pero la gloria no es eterna y es a fines del año 2001 en medio de una gira que los llevó por todo Chile, se plantó y le dijo a su manager: "Basta, hasta aquí llegué". Se tomó un avión y volvió a su casa acompañado del resto de sus compañeros. Sin nada, sólo con lo puesto. Mientras su tema seguía sonando en todos los equipos de música del mundo y el tema “Mayonesa” se convertía en un hit como hacía mucho tiempo no se escuchaba y como el Uruguay no tenía antecedentes. Es así que el grupo Chocolate sufría su más grande ruptura.


Junto con sus compañeros forma el grupo “Mayonesa” en el año 2002 siguiendo la misma línea musical que los consagró lograron su primer álbum lleno de música bailable y divertida, el cual los puso en los primeros lugares de ventas y sonando muy fuerte en radios de todo el mundo con sus nuevos hits “Agachadita” y “Chica de TV” también interpretados por Charly logrando en tan solo 10 días ser disco de ORO Y PLATINO en LATINOAMÉRICA.


Su segundo disco se consolida con el tema “Nadando” el cual es tema del verano 2004 en Latinoamérica y éxito en la gira 2005 por Europa.

Pero bueno es en el año 2005 que llegado de la gira por Europa y en total cordialidad con sus compañeros decide dejar el grupo y realizar su más grande sueño, tratar de emprender una carrera como solista.



Graba su primer tema “Las manos arriba” en dos versiones, una dance y la otra Europa y como ya nos tiene acostumbrados este se coloca en forma inminente en el gusto de toda la gente apuntando a ser el tema del verano 2006.

Junto con Ariel ex vocalista de Ráfaga graba un tema a dúo que es la cortina actual de “Pasión de sábado”, uno de los programas más vistos en la Argentina.
Participa de un calendario 2006 para toda Europa, junto a muchos artistas de todo el mundo, donde lo recaudado se destinara a los niños con cáncer.

Hoy comenzando a cumplir su sueño como solista, está grabando su primer disco el cual se titulará “NATURAL” y apunta a ser uno de los mejores de este 2006 consolidando así la profesionalidad de este cantante, el cual se identifica con tres palabras: Fuerza, Espíritu y Corazón.

Con todo este repertorio y lo que se vendrá tendremos Charly para rato.

BIOGRAPHY
Simply Charlie is how they call Carlos Sosa, voted as the Uruguayan singer of 1999. He is the lead singer of boy band “Chocolate” and the front man who lead them to their success.

Charly and Chocolate (the band) didn’t stop releasing hits during these years and his first hit “Loreley” places “Chocolate” at the top of the charts.

During 2002 they record and release “Mayonesa”. It is during 2002 when they tour the world. They now reach the top of the charts in Latin America, Europe and Asia. “Mayonesa” is the hit that establishes their image. This success leads them to record the filmclip for MTV. The filmclip “Mayonesa” is released and aired worldwide where it is most voted for clip. This filmclip is then is part of the MTV Latino Awards.

Due to their success millions of CDs are sold, confirmed shows and appearances are secured, photo sessions and television shows fill their itinerary. In 2001 during their tour of Chile, Carlos said, “I had enough, it stops here”. Carlos then boards a plane and returns to Uruguay with the rest of the members from “Chocolate”. Whilst their hit “Mayonesa” is still charting around the world, the song becomes a hit in “Uruguay” due to its unique sound. This is how Chocolate experienced their success.

Together with his friends they now become “Mayonesa” in 2002. They keep the same musical formula, which took their previous line-up to success. Mayonesa climbed the charts once again with hits such as Agachadita and Chica de TV. These tracks were major hits in Latin America and in 10 days they first reached gold and then platinum status. Their second album establishes itself with the track titled “Nadando” (Swimming) which becomes the most played song in Latin America in the summer of 2004 and their biggest hit during their tour of Europe in 2005.

During 2005 whilst touring Europe, Carlos decides to leave Mayonesa and to pursue a solo career.
Carlos records his first major hit “Las Manos Arriba”. He releases a dance version and a standard version of this track. This track also becomes one of the hits of the summer of 2006. Together with Ariel the ex vocalist of Rafaga they record a the theme song for the music video show “Pasion de Sabado”, one of the most viewed video hit shows in Argentina. During the European summer Carlos tours Europe alongside many Latin Artists, together they raise funds for children with cancer.
Now he is beginning to see live his dream as a solo artist recording his first album titled “Natural”. It will be one of the best hits of 2006 consolidating the professionalism of this vocalist as best describes in these three words: Strength, Spirit and Heart.
With all these hits and the hits yet to arrive there will be plenty of Charly.
